Midway Report September 20, '01

Our luck ran out today as far as the weather was concerned. It started off fairly warm but cooled down considerably as heavy rains moved in putting a damper on some of the preperations and also preventing me from getting any decient pictures.

Just about everything has been moved into place on both ends of the fairgrounds. The few that haven't should move in by tomorrow.

Pharoah's Fury has been set up and the Gentle Giant is almost finished. They were still working on it when I took a final look around 8:30 P.M. I'm sure it would have been finished sooner if not for the rain we had earlier today. It should, however, be finished by time the rides open tomorrow.

Remember, tomorrow is the "unofficial" first day of fair. That means you can park for free and get into the grounds for free. Not all of the stands are open but the rides will be running.

My next report will be posted tomorrow night. Until next time, this is your midway reporter signing off.
