It started out as a chilly, damp, and at times rainy day but by mid morning the sky began clearing up and it warmed up nicely. The rides came in durring the night and everyone was pretty much sleeping when I arrived at the fair grounds around day break. Upon arrival I did notice that the Sling Shot is here.

The grounds became more active as it got closer to work time as people started to emerge from their tents, campers, condos, and cars. Most milled around and talked as they waited to begin working on their rides.

At 10:00 a.m. the order was given to get started. Everyone reported to their assigned rides and began the task of setting them up. Some preperations were done to insure that the trailers were level and that everything was lined up where it is supposed to be. Once these tasks were accomplished the actual setting up of the rides began.

A lot of progess was made as the day progressed and things were really taking shape. The kiddie rides are finished already while the major rides are still a work in progress. A few haven't even been started yet as the workers help out with other rides before beginning work on their own.

They were working hard into the night and by tomorrow evening most everything should be completed. Most went to Grandma Edwards to get something to eat before crashing for the night. They have some new energy units that are quieter than the old ones. You can see part of one in the picture above.
My next report will be posted Tuesday night. Until then remember Fair is right around the corner! I can hardly wait!
