Hello everyone and welcome to the 2007 Bloomsburg Fair. I don't think we could have asked for a nicer opening day. The temperatures hit the high 70s or low 80s and it didn't rain! Let's hope this weather holds out for the whole week!

There was a steady flow of people coming in the gates all day. Even later at night there was still a good crowd so I think the turnout for the first day was pretty good.

You could find the bandshell crowded for the free entertainment like Stanky & the Coal Miners. Another huge draw were the tigers located at the end of machinery row near kiddie land. The show times for the tigers are 1:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m., & 7:00 p.m. so if you're in the area and want to see these beautiful creatures perform be sure to stop by and check them out.

The Figure 8 Race was exciting to watch and drew a good crowd. Don't forget the last Saturday is the Demo Derby so if you haven't already done so, get your tickets.

There were a lot of people riding the rides today. The weather was great to ride especially since it stayed warm even after the sun went down.

One big draw is the Bungee Jump. These kids were flipping head over heels for this one! Only bad thing is that it cost $7.00 per person.

For you history buffs out there, and even those who aren't, check out the One Room School and the Barton House located near kiddie land. You will learn a lot of information about each.
My next report will be posted tomorrow. I hope to begin the progressive reports soon. Be sure to check out the video and pictures of the day. Also, remember that if there is anything you would like me to report on just email me and I will see what I can do to accommodate.
