Hello everyone. The weather was great today. Temperatures hit the low 80s and there wasn't a drop of rain to be found. It did cool off quite a bit after the sun went down. Tomorrow is supposed to be even warmer so be sure to dress cool and bring a jacket for after dark.
Yesterday's attendance was 69,774. There was a good crowd again today but I don't think there were as many people as yesterday. Don't forget, tomorrow is Senior Citizen day. Anyone showing proof of age 65 or older will be admitted to the grounds for free.
Ryan Pelton the Elvis impersonator put on a special show at the grandstand today. He drew a large crowd that filled most all of the grandstand and track seating. He will be performing on the bandshell Monday and Tuesday.
During the free show, Ryan Pelton called Fair President Fred Trump out onto the stage where he presented President Trump with a small guitar that was autographed by himself and the members of his band. He then announced there would be retirement cake for everyone during the show. This is President Trump's final year in office. He is stepping down in January and plans to write a book about the Bloomsburg Fair.
There is a live carving demonstration set up next to the bathrooms by Kiddie Land. I was amazed to watch as a simple block of wood was carefully cut at by a chainsaw. With each well planned cut the log started looking more and more like a bear standing tall as though observing the onlookers who watched with equal fascination.
For those who would like to see some really big vegitables and neat looking cakes be sure to check out the Agriculture building. There you will find a 840 pound pumpkin, a 64 pound watermelon and lots of cakes and pies that were entered in the different contests.
