Midway Report September 29, '07

Beautiful Day Beautiful Day

Hello everyone. Well, here it is... the last day of the 2007 Bloomsburg Fair, and the weather was beautiful! Temperatures once again hit the mid 70's and the best part is there wasn't a drop of rain. All in all, it has been a great fair week!

Very Crowded Great Crowd

The attendance for yesterday was 62,389. I can tell you right now today's attendance was the highest all week. The warm, dry weather and it being the final day has drawn a very good crowd.

War Vetrans Display Them Insects, Inc.

For those of you who have visited the fair, I hope you took the time to stroll through the different buildings. There was much to see on display. One of the stands located inside the educational building has preserved insects, bats, & spiders. You can find more information at their website.

Demo Derby Truck Pull

The Demolition Derby drew a large crowd. One driver in the demolition derby proposed to his girlfriend by painting the question on his car. Aother car had a dedication to Carl "Doc" Poust who was killed yesterday. The Truck & Tractor Pulls drew an even larger crowd. The loud roar of the engines could be heard if you were in the vacinity of the track.

Pat Garrett and Suzy Dalton Big Tiny Young

Pat Garrett and Suzy Dalton put on a good show at the bandshell. Big Tiny Young drew a good crowd as he peformed on the Millennium Hall Stage.

Kiddie Rides Rides

The rides were crowded today even though there weren't any specials unless you had purchased the Mega Pass in advance. The rides ran until around 11:00 p.m. I have done a ride report on the Orbiter.

Tearing Down the Rides Empty Tents

Once the rides shut down the task of tearing down began. THe smaller rides went fast. The ones that took the longest were the Tidal Wave and Grand Carrousel. By daybreak almost all of the rides had left the lot. Reithoffer's game and food stands didn't waste any time tearing down and hitting the road. This is due to needing to get out of the way so the rides could be torn down. Some of the vendor stands also began tearing down while others simply closed up for the night, choosing to wait till morning before beginning the job of packing things up and moving out.

My final report will be posted tomorrow. Be sure to check out the video and pictures of the day. Also, remember that if there is anything you would like me to report on just email me and I will see what I can do to accommodate.
